Plans and credits

How credits work: one credit, one final photo

Your plan gives you a number of credits every month. One credit is one final photo you deliver. This guide explains exactly when a credit is used, which re-renders are free, and how rollover and top-ups work, with worked examples.

The short version

Five rules cover everything. The rest of this guide shows them in action.

  1. You need an active subscription

Stager AI works with a monthly or yearly plan. Your plan adds credits to your balance every month, from 10 photos a month on Starter up to 2,000 on the largest Studio tier. High volume, or running a real estate media company? Talk to us on the chat about a pay-as-you-go account.

  2. HDR: one credit per final photo

A scene of 3, 5 or 7 bracketed exposures merges into one photo and uses one credit. You pay for the result, not for the files you upload.

  3. AI retouching: 1 credit, then 9 free re-renders

The first render of a photo uses one credit. The next 9 renders of that same photo are free, so you can try ideas without counting.

  4. Unused credits roll over

Credits you don't use this month move to the next one, as long as your subscription is active. Rolled-over credits expire after 6 months.

  5. Top up any time

Need more before your next renewal? Buy extra credits from your Account page without changing your plan.

HDR editing: you pay per final photo

Real estate photographers shoot brackets: the same frame at several exposures, from dark to bright. Stager AI merges each set into one balanced photo. That merged photo is what uses a credit.

Brackets per scene

1 credit

1 final photo

  • 3, 5 or 7 brackets per scene all cost the same: one credit.
  • A single exposure, enhanced on its own, is also one final photo and one credit.
  • How your brackets are grouped decides how many final photos you get. Check the scenes before you click Enhance Now.

Count scenes, not files. 20 rooms shot with 5 brackets is 100 files, but only 20 credits.

AI retouching: one credit covers 10 renders

In the AI Photo Retoucher, every instruction you run creates a new render of the photo. The first render uses one credit. Renders 2 to 10 on that photo are free. Render 11 uses a new credit and opens another 9 free renders, and so on.

  • Free re-renders belong to one photo. They don't carry over to a different photo.
  • Before a render that will use a new credit, the editor warns you above the button.
  • Every render of the photo counts toward the 10, so use the free ones to test ideas before your final version.

The other AI tools in the editor, like virtual staging and the Magic Eraser, count renders the same way.

Rollover: unused credits move to next month

Your plan adds its credits at the start of every billing month. Whatever you don't use stays in your balance, as long as your subscription is active.

  • Rolled-over credits expire after 6 months.
  • If you cancel, you keep access until the end of your billing period. Use your remaining credits before then.
  • An active subscription is required to use the platform, including any credits in your balance.
